I’m a content designer, digital copywriter and content strategist with over 20 years’ experience shaping clear, user-centred content for international organisations across the public, private, commercial and charity sectors.
Content has been my passion for over 20 years.
From magazines and books to complex digital platforms, that passion has always been about the same thing – helping people understand information, make informed decisions and feel confident about what they’re engaging with.
I began my career after completing a postgraduate diploma in magazine journalism at City St George’s, University of London. I started out in business publishing before moving into consumer magazines, where I edited a range of high-profile specialist titles and worked across some of the UK’s most recognised publications.
During this period, I spotted Pokémon at a consumer trade show in Japan — more than a year before its Western release — and went on to launch and edit a series of UK magazines tied to the franchise.
Those magazines are now collectors’ items, but they also reflect something that’s stayed with me throughout my career – a willingness to trust judgement, spot potential early and build something meaningful around it.
I later became editor of Bizarre, the UK’s biggest alternative culture magazine, where I led editorial teams, grew a fiercely loyal audience and expanded the brand beyond print through books, live events and early social media engagement. Alongside this, I wrote and edited specialist books, including 100 Years of Tattoos, published internationally by Hachette.
After producing licensed magazines for Egmont, I moved fully into digital content, working as a content designer on the relaunch of the British Red Cross website. Since then, I’ve applied my editorial experience to digital environments – helping organisations understand their users and create content that is clear, responsible and genuinely useful.
Today, I work with organisations to shape content strategy, improve clarity and design content that supports real user needs – whether that’s explaining complex services, guiding people through decisions or building trust at scale.

Outside of work, I’m into live music, long-distance running, and – more than 20 years on – I’m still catching Pokémon. I’m also obsessed with offbeat travel and seek out unusual places, people and ceremonies around the world, which I document on my personal blog, Posts from the Edge.
